What we ask before moving day
Before we send a truck, we ask about stairs, elevators, parking and whether either building has a certificate of insurance requirement, which some Nashville apartment complexes do. We also ask what is going with you and what is being sold or donated, since that changes how many trips the crew needs to make. A five minute call or a short video walk through the rooms gives us enough to bring the right size truck and the right number of hands.
We also ask about timing on both ends. A same day move out of one lease and into another leaves little room for delay, so we build in a buffer rather than promise a window we cannot hold if traffic on I-24 or I-40 runs long that morning.
How the crew works the day
The crew wraps furniture in moving blankets before it leaves the room, not once it is already at the truck. Dressers get their drawers taped or removed depending on weight, mattresses go into covers, and anything with glass gets padded on both sides. We load heaviest first and build the truck so nothing shifts on the drive across town.
On the unload, we ask where each piece goes before we start carrying, so the crew is not asking you twenty questions with a couch on their shoulders. Boxes go to the room marked on the label, beds get reassembled, and we walk the truck at the end to make sure nothing got left behind in a corner.
Nashville neighborhoods we know well
We move households out of East Nashville bungalows with narrow front steps, Green Hills condos with tight parking, and newer builds in Antioch and Bellevue with wider driveways but longer walks to the door. Each of those has its own quirks, and a crew that has already worked that street layout moves faster than one seeing it for the first time.
If your building has a loading dock reservation or a move in window set by the property manager, tell us the time slot and we will plan the truck arrival around it so you are not paying for idle time while we wait for a dock to open up.
After the truck is empty
A local move does not always end when the boxes are inside. If you want beds put back together, shelving reinstalled, or a couch carried up to a second floor bedroom instead of left in the living room, we can do that as part of the same visit. Just mention it when you book so we bring the right tools.
